What land might we retreat from?
Retreat refers to the resettlement of inhabitants from vulnerable land. The land use is then reassigned for purposes that won’t be negatively affected by flooding. Retreat can occur by controlling housing density, creating landscapes and parks, converting land for food production, and buying back properties in flood zones.
